PALERMO
Palermo is a city of thousand faces, eclectic, home to fabulous Arab-Norman buildings and of Sicilian baroque architecture.
Palermo is also known for its Ballaro’ fish market and delicacies.
You must try a cannolo, a Sicilian pastry invented in a convent in Palermo, a fine tube-shaped shell of fried pastry dough filled with a sweet fresh ricotta cream with either lemon, cinnamon, vermouth, chocolate, essence of orange or candied fruit.
From Palermo, you will cruise westward to relax in nearby Tonnara di Scopelo, a wonderful bay.
THE EGADI ISLANDS
And if it is not too windy further west to the Egadi Islands : Levanzo, Marettimo, Favignana and the islets of Formica and Maraone.
The Egadi islands coasts are known for their creeks, sea caves, turquoise sea, amazing sea floor and tranquility.
Back to continental Sicily, you may visit the town of Trapani with its local fish market where freshly caught sea bath, sea bream, prawns and squids can be found.
From Trapani, take an excursion to Erice: a medieval village offering breathtaking views on the western coastline of the island.

BAROQUE ARQUITECTURE
Baroque architecture flourished in Southern Sicily in the 17th and 18th centuries under the Spanish Empire.
The distinctive Sicilian Baroque can be found in the Val di Noto in cities like Modica, Noto, Ragusa and Siracusa and is a legacy from the wealthy and often extravagant Spanish aristocracy at the time.
Modica included in the UNESCO World Heritage List for its artistic treasures is also famous for its chocolate.
The Val di Noto as well as the territory of Agrigento are also famous for their almonds used to prepared Sicilian confectionary, the most famous of which is Frutta Martorana (marzipan in the shape of various fruit).

How about going wine tasting along the Strada del Vino of Val di Noto.
The Noto Valley is famous worldwide for its Nero d’Avolo wine.
TAORMINA
Cruising North East, you could stop in Marina di Riposto near the charming town of Taormina.
If fond of archeology, take a guided tour to Villa del Casale, a monument of great historical and artistic value of the late Roman Empire with amazing polychrome mosaic floors.
Taormina is relatively close to Catania airport.
So your yacht charter could end or start there if you plan to cruise the Aeolian Islands.
