CAMPANIA COMPLEX HISTORY
Prior to your yacht charter, you may wish to visit the fascinating city of Naples.
Dating back some 4,000 years, Naples is one of the most ancient cities in Europe with a rich and complex heritage. It has retained the imprint of its successive cultural influences (Greek, Romans, Byzantine Empire, Normans, Swabians, Angevins, Aragonese, Bourbons).
Do not miss the National Archeological Museum where ancient Greek and Roman works of art are exhibited together with an extensive collection of mosaics and artifacts from Pompeii and Herculanum.
Make sure to see the magnificent Palazzo of Capodimonte built for the Bourbon rulers of the Kingdom of Naples and Sicily. The royal appartments are furnished with antique 18th-century furniture and a splendid collection of porcelain and majolica whilst the 1st and 2nd floor house the National Gallery with paintings from the 13th to the 18th century including paintings by Caravaggio, Raphael, Titian, El Greco.
The Centro Storico, historic centre, is filled with architecturally stunning churches, elegant palaces, squares and lively vicoli (narrow streets).
Naples is supposed to have the best coffee in Italy. So make sure to stop at 19th century Gran Caffe Gambrinus for a cup of coffee or capuccino and try the delicious Naples pastries sfogliatelle ricce or frolle or a slice of Naples traditional Pastiera.
CAPRI
You are now on your way to iconic and beautiful Capri island, a resort destination for the 19th century Italian aristocracy and surely one of the most cosmopolitan island in the Mediterranean, beloved by both the international jetset and Hollywood celebrities.
Spend the day at sea, swim, sunbathe, unwind, cruise along the island to discover the dramatic Faraglioni rock formation, visit the blue grotto with its crystalline blue water with silver reflection before enjoying Capri’s elegant nightlife.
ISCHIA AND PROCIDA ISLANDS
After two days in Capri, why not hop to nearby islands of Procida and Ischia, where some scenes of «The talented Mr Ripley» movie were filmed.
THE PONTINE ISLANDS
If your charter is long enough, you will explore the Pontine Islands, renowned for their unspoilt beauty and transparent waters. The Pontine archipelago comprises of several islands : Ponza, Palmarola, Zannone, Gavi, Ventotene and Santo Stefano.
Ponza is the largest and is the only populated one together with Ventotene.
THE AMALFI COAST
Otherwise, from Capri, set off and cruise along the magic Amalfi Coast. This stretch of mountainous coast that sits in-between Naples and Salerno, is a truly enchanting Mediterranean landscape that offers unique views, plunging cliffs hanging over a deep-blue sea, picturesque villages.
Sorrento is known to have the best limoncello in the world. Disembark by tender in Marina Grande and go limoncello tasting !
